1 spot left for our Trauma course in June

I am very pleased to announce our next trauma course at the Endo inn in Oslo. Due to great interest after our first course in April, we have scheduled a second course in June, and currently there is only one spot left. Participants will receive 7 online modules on different trauma topics, that they can watch at home before the course takes place, so we can maximize the time dedicated to practical training.
We developed a special trauma model, on which we will do a variety of clinical exercises, including repositioning of luxated teeth, splinting, surgical extrusion with 180 degrees rotation and using the Benex Extractor on deeply fractured teeth.
In addition, we will also address several restorative procedures, including fragment re-attachment, reinforcing an immature tooth with composite and fiber posts and restoration of a tooth with a deep crown/root fracture by placing a post and build-up.

Endo Inn is a fantastic training facility with 12 stations equipped with microscopes and we use we the newest technology to teach our participants. Please look at the following link: https://www.endoinn.com/module-4-endodontic-and-restorative-aspects-of-traumatic-dental-injuries

Post removal and preservation of the existing crown⁣

This 75-year old female presented with a sinus tract associated with tooth 11. ⁣
15 years ago, the crown on 11 needed replacement. As you can see, 11 showed a radiolucency, but the dentist thought it was not feasible to remove the fat and long post, so peri-apical surgery was recommended and carried out by an endodontist. ⁣

15 years after the surgery, she presented with a sinus tract. I leaned towards retreatment, because there was hardly any space to do a decent retroprep and retrofill, due to the long post. ⁣

I told her it was very likely that the crown had to be replaced, but we gave it a try through the existing crown. It was challenging and time consuming, but I managed to remove the post through the crown. After post removal, we used our Waterlase Iplus for LAI.⁣

As you already might have guessed, the crown came loose at some point...but there was a decent ferrule, so we recemented the crown and placed Ca(OH)2⁣

3 weeks later, the sinus tract was gone, and we finished treatment with an apical plug of RRM putty, followed by a fiber post in a composite core build-up.⁣
