De serie is ontwikkeld in samenwerking tussen OSCAM en Naturalis en maakt deel uit van het programma rond de tentoonstelling ‘Het bos van Suriname’.⁠

Host Vinny Tailor (Vinny Tailor) gaat in gesprek met gasten uit de Surinaamse diaspora over thema’s als cultuur, identiteit, spiritualiteit en gemeenschap vanuit hun eigen praktijk, geleefde ervaring en dagelijkse realiteit. Hun verhalen krijgen extra betekenis binnen de context van het Surinaamse bos, waar natuur, biodiversiteit en cultureel erfgoed onlosmakelijk met elkaar verbonden zijn.⁠

Their stories take on extra meaning within the context of the Surinamese forest, where nature, biodiversity, and cultural heritage are deeply connected.⁠

Anmwé Kréyol Klub is a new initiative in Amsterdam for anyone who speaks, or wants to (re)connect with, French Caribbean Creole. Whether you speak or understand Creole from Martinique, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Dominica, Saint Lucia and beyond, you’re welcome to join. ⁠

The concept is simple: a space where Kréyol can be experienced, practiced and discussed. As diasporans living abroad, finding opportunities to stay connected to the language can be difficult. Anmwé Kréyol Klub exists to make that easier. ⁠
