At ART ISLAND, Marian Cramer Projects presents works of Bob Jonkers — paintings that explore how digital culture reshapes our perception of reality, identity, and lived experience.

In an age defined by smartphone cameras and constant online visibility, Jonkers examines the tension between presence and representation. His work reflects on how moments are increasingly captured, edited, and curated for circulation within digital space, where perception often outweighs truth and experience becomes performative.

Through layered compositions, Jonkers investigates the distance created by technologies that promise connection. His paintings question what remains of authentic experience when memory itself is mediated through screens, images, and algorithms.

Bob Jonkers’ work invites us to reflect on the fragile boundary between reality and its digital construction — and on the ways visual culture continues to shape consciousness itself.
