AIESEC in the Netherlands

Hi, my name is Santje! A half year ago I joined AIESEC because I wanted to develop my personal and professional skills. AIESEC offers me a really open environment where I met a lot of new people. Besides this, I have learned a lot of new skills that I would not have developed inside my studies.
As EP manager I assist students who want to go abroad and gain experience by doing an internship at a start-up or other companies. I help to bridge the gap between the student and the company, in the country of preference, in a really low-key way!

Hi, ik ben Santje! Een half jaar geleden ben ik bij AIESEC gegaan, omdat ik mezelf wilde ontwikkelen op persoonlijk en professioneel vlak. AIESEC heeft mij een omgeving geboden waar ik in korte tijd al enorm veel nieuwe mensen heb ontmoet. Daarnaast heb ik al heel veel nieuwe skills geleerd die ik binnen mijn studie niet zou ontwikkelen.
Als EP Manager begeleid ik studenten die graag naar het buitenland willen en hier ervaring op te doen door een stage te doen bij een start-up of ander bedrijf. Hierbij help ik studenten zoals jij op een laagdrempelige manier een stage in het land naar keuze te vinden!

Hoi mijn naam is Karlijn, en ik ben sinds een halfjaartje EP manager bij AIESEC. Ik koos ervoor om te solliciteren bij AIESEC omdat ik ervaringen wilde opdoen die ik binnen m'n studie niet zo snel zou opdoen, en ik hoopte me persoonlijk te kunnen ontwikkelen. En dat is absoluut gelukt! Ik heb binnen een halfjaartje op professioneel maar ook persoonlijk vlak al veel meer geleerd dan ik van tevoren had verwacht. Daarnaast weet ik wat voor ramp het kan zijn als je een buitenland ervaring wilt opdoen om op eigen houtje alles uit te moeten zoeken, dus het leek mij leuk om mensen daarbij te helpen.
Als EP manager begeleid ik studenten die graag in het buitenland een vrijwilligers project willen doen. Samen gaan we op zoek naar het perfecte project, leggen we contact met het gekozen land en zorgen we dat alles helemaal in orde is voor vertrek. Tijdens het project blijf ik contact onderhouden met de student om te kijken of alles goed gaat en natuurlijk om leuke foto's te ontvangen :)

Hi my name is Karlijn, and I have been an EP manager at aiesec for half a year. I chose to apply at AIESEC because I wanted to gain experiences that I wouldn't gain in my studies, and I hoped that AIESEC would help me with my personal development. And that absolutely succeeded! Within this half year I have learned much more professionally as well as personally than I had previously expected. Besides that I know what kind of disaster it can be if you want to gain experience abroad and have to sort out everything on your own, so I thought it would be nice to help people with that.
As an EP manager I guide students who would like to do a volunteer project abroad. Together we look for the perfect project, we make contact with the chosen country and we ensure that everything is ready before the experience starts. During the project I keep in touch with the student to see if everything is going well and of course to receive some nice photos :)

Hee hoi! Ik ben Lisa, de trainee manager bij AIESEC Delft. Ik begeleid de internationale studenten die in Nederland een stage doen. Hierbij ontmoet ik veel mensen uit andere culturen en leer ik hoe je met allerlei verschillende mensen moet omgaan. Ik vind het belangrijk dat de trainees zich hier thuis voelen en dat ze hun persoonlijke en professionele doelen halen. Hiervoor organiseer ik activiteiten, help ik bij het regelen van formaliteiten en een huis zoeken en steun ik ze als er problemen zijn. Wat ik speciaal vind aan AIESEC is dat het een internationale organisatie is, in elke grote studentenstad over de hele wereld heb je wel een lokaal bestuur! Anders dan bij een commissie bij een studie- of studentenvereniging wordt er ook echt gekeken naar jouw ontwikkeling en niet alleen maar naar wat je neerzet. Zo krijg je elke maandag een training om jezelf te ontwikkelen en wordt er goed naar je persoonlijke doelen gekeken.

Hi there! I'm Lisa, the trainee manager at AIESEC Delft. I guide international students who do an internship in the Netherlands. With this function, I meet many people from different cultures and I learn how to deal with all kinds of people. I think it's important that the trainees feel at home here and that they achieve their personal and professional goals. For this I organize activities, I help arrange formalities and look for a house and I support them when there are problems. What I find special about AIESEC is that it's an international organization, in every major student city around the world you have a local board! Unlike a committee at a study or student association, they don't just look at what you put down but they also really consider your own development. This way you will receive training every Monday to improve yourself and develop your personal goals.

Yesterday evening two of our members, David Hamel & Elisa Bloem, gave a training to some students of Variscopic about the DISC personality test. This test is about building better, stronger en more fulfilling relationships with others. The goal of giving this training was to improve communication between the co-workers and to understand what they personally need to be the most successful.

We, as AIESEC, focus on personal development, or more specifically, leadership development. By giving this training, we connect with other students to make them a better global leader!
