What a drama!

Happily, Downtown Promotions was mentioned in the “Eindhovens Dagblad” article, happily have we worked with LEV Group these past 3 years and happily will we continue our efforts from the “OUTSIDE-IN”.

But… it’s a tough city and frustrating to say the least.

Employees that match the goal is key!

The role of the average youth worker has changed. How can everyone continually scream that they are all about talent development and at the same time continue to hire the traditionally trained youth worker?! It doesn’t work.

Education is mismatched!

Why are the needs of the community not being matched with the educational training at institutions in this country. Why are the skills of youth work not being merged with cultural training if the key is talent development. How can you expect a general youth worker to identify, captivate and activate talent?

The importance of cultural influence!

I recently wrote about J. Ivy the first Grammy Award winner (new category in 2022) for Spokenword Album. In his acceptance speech hé thanks his high school English teacher who recognized his writing talent. She pushed him only once to perform in front of his class and as he says “I JUST NEVER STOPPED”.

Hands on networker! Talk the talk and walk the walk!

Geldrop-Mierlo needs a team leader that knows this city and can work from the “OUTSIDE IN & INSIDE-OUT”. Someone who loves and cares about the city and it’s inhabitants, someone who is a go-getter and someone that will get out there and walk the beat. Let that person build a power team of cultural enthusiasts around them.

I ask myself? What is the purpose of this news article? To shine a light on the recent failure of LEV Group or to assist them in raising awareness to the fact that the city should rally around LEV and work together to make Luuk all that it could and should be?? The latter I hope!!

Maybe the people from the old establishment of Joek could become more involved. They know and love their city like no one else!! Joek-Luuk (potāto-potato).
