We open our own exhibition ‘Our Ever Expanding Body’ by , the whole Stripdagen weekend from 12:00 to 17:00, but our official opening will be on Saturday the 30th at 17:30! It’s only a 10 minute walk from De Koepel!

Book binding Workshop by Gersande Schellinx at Zinefest! 31.05 - 14:30-16:30 - A collaboration between

During Zinefest there will be stands and crafts (30/31st of May) but also a workshop by Gersande Schellinx on the 31st!!

Each participant will craft its own blank (note)book using the French link stitch method. No prior experience is needed. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring some papers or prints of your own.

French link stitch is one of the safest ways to make scattered prints or papers come together as a whole. Sewn sections are the (usually) most hidden craft at the core of many bindings. It is the perfect method to learn a wide range of steps towards bookmaking.

One can get familiar with basic bookbinding tools and techniques while making this one object (folding, punching holes, sewing, etc.) This process also introduces how one can map out prints for a publication, being mindful of the format of your materials and the potential of pattern making on your (note)book’s spine.

No book is indestructible, but sewn sections are one of the most durable bindings in the publishing world.
