Last Friday, June 27 2025, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of Shōfūkan - the centre for Japanese culture in Rotterdam. Berry Kuijer and Wies Weening invited all attendees into the dojo with a spectacular taiko performance, where Shinto in Europe conducted a Shinto ceremony. Tamagushi hōten was performed by Shōfūkan initiators Joris van Nispen and Tini Van de Wetering, accompanied by his excellency ambassador Minami, honourable alderman Said Kasmi, and chairman of the Supervisory Board Stam. Shiho harae was performed by Joris, with a 400 year old ōgatana from Mino, Japan. Pictures Pieter van Roijen Fotografie
