The Gospel of Luke 14:7-11, Jesus tells a parable after observing guests competing for the most prestigious seats at a banquet. While it offers practical social wisdom, the deeper message is about the nature of God’s kingdom.

Here are the main lessons👇

1. Humility is a virtue. Jesus warns against assuming you deserve honor. Choosing the place of honor yourself reveals pride and self-exaltation.

2. Honor should be given, not taken. Instead of seeking recognition, allow others especially God to exalt you if it is appropriate. Genuine honor comes from being invited upward, not from placing yourself there.

3. Pride leads to humiliation. If you promote yourself, you risk being brought low. The embarrassment of being asked to move to a lesser seat illustrates the consequences of arrogance.

4. God reverses worldly values. Verse 11 summarizes the principle.
For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.
