Kitchen | Townhouse, Rotterdam
Often described as the heart of the home, the kitchen is one of the hardest-working spaces in any project — balancing functionality, ergonomics and everyday living.
Designed around a simple monochrome palette, the original brief for this home was ‘Monochrome Home’. Over time, both the house and the people living in it evolved, bringing warmth, colour and collected pieces into the space.
At the centre of the ground floor sits a black Boffi kitchen island, paired with a granite worktop and an integrated quartzite sink — a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Butler’s sink. Together, these elements create a strong architectural anchor, while steel-framed glazing, vintage finds and collected objects soften the space and add character.
Designed around movement and use, every element was considered to support daily life, from cooking and entertaining to the quieter moments in between.
A kitchen should earn its place through use. This one certainly has.

The project that made me relocate here — my own home.
Designed around the architecture first. The double-height space set the tone: generous, light-filled, and the heart of the home.
Everything else followed from that — a restrained palette, natural materials, pieces chosen to let the volume breathe.
Nearly a decade on since the build began, it continues to evolve alongside the life lived in it.
And soon, another chapter begins.

Living | Townhouse, Rotterdam
Some rooms start as a vision and then slowly grow into themselves. This one did exactly that.
The leather has softened with time, the plants have grown out of their corners. Artwork has been collected and hung on the walls.
This is the kind of room you come back to at the end of the day. One that holds its own without trying too hard, warm without being precious, yet considered, curated over time.
A home that has lived alongside the people in it — and one that’s ready for its next chapter.

Primary bedroom | Townhouse, Rotterdam
This was my first build project when moving to the Netherlands – our very own home. Working with the developer and the architect we built this house from the foundations up, finishing in November 2017.
The original theme for the house was ‘monochrome home’, inspired by its striking architecture. In 2021 we began to add a few more tones, colour and warmth to its once only-white walls.
The primary is a reflection of this, layering of softer tones and fabrics it’s been a sanctuary.
Change is coming once again.. stay tuned for more.

A bespoke piece, placed between living and dining to create definition without division.
Iron red on the supports, graphite grey oak on the shelves and cupboards to ground the piece, gunmetal as the final finish.
