Three figures from the heart of European techno and experimental club music. Between them, they carry decades of dancefloors across 40+ countries, releases on Kompakt, Berghain residencies, and a shared rootedness in Cologne’s underground scene. Expect heavy, considered techno sets.

How much space does it take to travel? In the series 𝘏𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘣𝘢𝘨𝘴, 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘴 (2025), artist Sam Marshall Lockyer explores the physical space that travel vessels occupy. To be seen at 𝑯𝒆𝒕 𝒁𝒖𝒊𝒅 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒕: 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒍𝒂 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒐𝒔, in collaboration with art gallery KIN.

The vacuums, handbags and suitcases in these paintings are made from stencils and outlines of the private containers that populate our domestic and travelling lives, recognizable vessels that do not reveal their contents. A reflection on the possibility of a painting as a physical register of material and space, an opaque container, simultaneously withholding and sharing information.

Lockyer’s () sculptures 𝘉𝘰𝘹 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 and 𝘉𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘵𝘴 (2025) are made from fragments of fabric, like shirts, coats, rags and the textile from the London tube and bus seats. These fragments are molded around and take the shape of existing objects like buckets, kettles, cups and containers.

KIN () is a gallery founded by Nicolaus Schafhausen in 2023 located in the heart of Brussels. With a focus on artistic positions that defies easy categorization, the program strives for an interdisciplinary approach. KIN stands for kinship and, as such, collaboration with others is part of the gallery’s DNA. KIN is a platform for artistic exchange, it presents exhibitions, develops projects, and programs events.
