Today we would like to introduce Martin Heere, our Business Analyst. 👋

The first question we asked: What do you love about being a Business Analyst at SurePay?
His response: "I love the diversity this role gives me at SurePay. I'm in the Product Management team so I'm at the forefront of every new innovation we undertake. My primary objective is to verify the feasibility of an idea or a feature, and to cut these features down into smaller digestible requirements for the teams. Sometimes this means delivering a very structured analysis, and other times it means talking with customers about their pains and collaborating on a potential solution."

"We're not a large corporation so there are many gaps to fill. For example, apart from typical BA tasks, I find myself investigating API's for potential partnerships, creating wireframes, UX flows or even designing whole new API's to be able to bring my message across to colleagues or customers. For one of our projects I even had to learn how to create pull requests and resolve merge conflicts in Github, which would be a very atypical thing to learn as a BA in a larger corporate environment."

Next we asked him: If you could choose to be someone else for a day, who would you choose and why?
He answered: "I'd love to be a female pro surfer like Maya Gabeira for one day. She once set the Guinness World Record for surfing the largest waveI like surfing but I'm not quite good at it. It would be awesome to be able to surf big waves for one day like a pro. Another reason I chose her is that it would be quite funny and perhaps confronting to experience the world as an attractive woman for one day."

Another question was: What is your most memorable moment thus far at SurePay?
His response: "My most memorable moments are the lunch breaks at SurePay. We often go for a nice walk with everyone who's in the office, and afterwards we sit down and discuss all the worldly problems with respect for each other's opinions and a lot of humour."

Lastly, we asked him: What makes SurePay, SurePay?
He answered: ''Our product and the people! I think we have an amazing ambition, which is preventing fraud for the everyday consumer and we're doing a great job at that. I'm super proud our (once) tiny product was first noticed and copied to the UK, and now it's the basis of new regulation that will make instant payments more safe across the whole EU! Next to that, I love the diversity and drive of my colleagues, which also motivates me to be the best version of myself. The impact we're making is incredible with such a limited number of colleagues.''

Today we would like to introduce Michael Hülsiggensen, our Head of DACH Market 👋 .

We asked him: What do you love about being a Head of DACH Market?
His response: ''There are many things. I have contact with many people from different sectors with diverse backgrounds and requirements. The focus is currently on the banking market and there is a lot going on there for us.''

Next we asked: If you could choose to be someone else for a day, who would you choose and why?
He responded: ''That's a tough question, actually I don't want to swap at all and I feel comfortable. But learning to better understand another person's way of thinking and acting and their motivation would of course interest me. And as a prominent example I would choose the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz or his predecessor Angela Merkel.''

We then asked: What is your most memorable moment thus far at SurePay?
His response: ''That was certainly at the beginning of my employment with SurePay, about 2 years ago. The welcome from all the team members but also from the board was so great, open and sympathetic. It was impressive (although I was able to change the average age of the company upwards noticeably). The interest and curiosity to get to know and understand the DACH market better through me was incredibly high. And all that in a sympathetic manner and with a lot of energy and joy. The whole team is just great. ''

Lastly, we asked: What makes SurePay, SurePay?
He responded: ''I have already described this before. There are great, likeable and clever people working at SurePay, who together have brought probably the best solution for the "Confirmation of Payee" to the market and continue to develop it further and all with fun, joy and great commitment. It is a pleasure to be part of this team!''

Today we would like to introduce Santosh Kotkar, our Product Owner. 👋

We asked Santosh: what do you love about being a Product Owner?
His response: ‘’Working in an agile and iterative development environment as a Product Owner provides me with valuable opportunities where I can gather feedback, assess the impact of changes, and consistently enhance our product/services by leveraging real-world usage and data. At SurePay, collaboration is a central aspect of our work. My team closely collaborates with various cross-functional & IT teams, fostering a diverse range of perspectives.

If he could choose to be someone else for a day he would love to switch places with Mahendra Singh Dhoni for a day. His explanation: ''This could be an exciting and intriguing experience, considering his remarkable leadership skills and the qualities he embodies. As Dhoni, you could have the opportunity to navigate high-pressure situations with a calm and composed demeanour, make crucial decisions, empower and trust your team members, lead by example, leading from behind, communicate effectively, and demonstrate resilience and a positive attitude."

Next to that we asked him: what is your most memorable moment thus far at SurePay?
His response: ''There have been numerous instances where we experienced great enjoyment while working together. Whether it was collaborating on incident resolutions, engaging in constructive discussions during monthly leadership meetings, or participating in team activities like a Cricket Clinic at VRA Cricket Amsterdam or sailing ship with team at Marina Stellandam.

Lastly, we asked him: what makes SurePay, SurePay?
His response: ''SurePay is a company dedicated to the mission of enhancing the security of online payments. Guided by its core values of caring, collaboration, forward-thinking, and responsibility, SurePay actively works towards achieving this objective.
