Our story

Modal Afrique grew out of a request from the club-concept Jassbox. Some of us knew each other from a band called Hordaland 80, playing mostly Fela-tunes. Since that the band has been a beloved side-project playing a couple of concerts a year. All our shows so far has been hailed by everyone included; promoters, audience and by the musicians playing. And last year we signed a record deal. We plan to release our debut album late in 2020. Our goal is to have a good time every time we meet and to create music that makes you want to dance.
