Echoes of past/voices of future.
Andrea Galiazzo (b. Padova IT, 1983) lives and works in Oslo. He graduated from IUAV inVenice IT, the Higher Institute of Fine Art in Ghent BE, and Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo. His practice challenges asymmetric power relations, unsettling the boundaries between categories such as student and teacher, artist and audience, private and public, crafts and conceptual approaches. Recent projects explore weaving as a narrative device. His work was recently presented in the solo exhibitions “Twelve Months” (2024) at BO (The Association of Visual Artists Oslo), “In Broad Daylight We Posed” (2020) at Trondhjem Kunstforening, and “Pink Glass Swan” (2022), duo exhibition in collaboration with Marthe Ramm Fortun at HFKD, Holstebro DK. Additionally, Galiazzo's works have been displayed at group exhibitions at Interkulturelt museum, Oslo, Femtensesse, Oslo, The Autumn Exhibition at Kunstnernes Hus, Oslo, The Drawing Triennial 2019, Oslo, S.M.A.K. in Ghent, Annie Gentils Gallery in Antwerp and at Kristiansand Kunsthall. The exhibition “Wassily Chair Replicas Society and some drawings on the side”, in collaboration with Dan Perjovschi, is currently running at KRAFT in Bergen.
