Mama Emcee

What started with a phone call from 9 years ago, turned into a journey I never could have imagined. She simply said, “I need someone to talk between the acts and make it funny, and you are the only one I know that can do that”. Whether that was true or not, or she was just simply desperate, we’ll never know, but what I do know is that I am grateful that I answered that call.

To take center stage and lead the audience through an evening of glamour, humor, sadness, anger, glitter and whatever else the performers had cooked up has always been a true honor and privilege.

I adore looking out at the audience sitting there eager to have a good time and guide them through, holding their hands when needed and making them laugh when I say something silly. The sound of people laughing is my greatest joy because it is pure. Because for a moment you forget yourself, any worry you might have and simply just live in the present.

I always, towards the end of a show say “Liveshows sucks, because eventually they will come to an end”, and this spring, my journey as your host Mama will come to an end.

It wasn’t a decision I made quickly or without any thoughts, because believe you me, boy, do I have thoughts. I feel at this point in life, I have given the part as a host and a performer all that I can, and my chapter ends here.

To all the people that have come to our shows, that have told me that I have inspired them in some way, is what I will cherish and take with me. To all the friends that I have made along the way are people that inspire me. The tenacity and strength is remarkable and you are all true inspirations.  

I have loved every minute being your Mistress of Ceremonies, and I will forever be grateful and honored to have shared this moment in time with you.

But I won’t disappear just yet, I have a couple of shows left with and and I do hope I get to see you there one last time before I hang up my whip.
