You can’t control what other people think or feel about you (and nor should you try!). Other people can be unpredictable.

You can, however, control how YOU feel about you.

When you feel good about yourself and you create a high level of self-esteem you don’t tend too overly care what others think of you.

The reason behind this is your self-esteem and social anxiety are inextricably linked.

You CANNOT raise your level of self-esteem WITHOUT lowering your level of social anxiety. Reversely, you CANNOT lower your self-esteem WITHOUT raising your levels of social anxiety.

A great way to improve your self-esteem is to change your self talk.

When the language you use when speaking to yourself is kind, caring and encouraging then you WILL RAISE your self-esteem.

It’s time to start treating yourself as you would treat others you care about. Be kind, gentle, forgiving and charitable to yourself ALWAYS. If you do this well enough you won’t feel the need to change how others think about you.

When we look backwards into our past that’s the direction we go - backwards. If we want to go forward, we need to look to the present and the future!

Many people who go through the Thrive Programme often mention how pleasing and refreshing it is that they are not encouraged to go over past experiences continuously.

Most sessions involve the client learning, recognising and addressing their powerless, unhelpful thinking about themselves, the world around them and their experiences.

This is particularly important as its their current unhelpful thinking processes (possibly about the past), that are causing the issues in the present moment.

When we continuously look back into our past, looking for a reason as to why we are feeling the way we do now, we are looking down the wrong path. There are major flaws in the theory that our past experiences ‘make’ us who we become or affect us in the present moment.

When we keep looking back, that’s the route we go. This encourages us to feel powerless, stuck and helpless.

Quite simply, everything! Some people come to the programme because they want to overcome lifelong mental health conditions such as depression or anxiety, while others simply want to learn how to make the most of life!

The Thrive Programme is NOT a type of therapy or counselling… it is a very clear, understandable and easy to follow training programme. Thousands of hours have been spent analysing mental health and breaking down the unique skillset ‘thriving’ people have; turning all the research into a simple-to-follow but highly effective programme.

Creating and maintaining good mental health is very similar to creating and maintaining good physical health: you learn what to do, then put it into action.

You will be taught about the different components that make up your mental health, then how to ‘fine tune’ them to get the very best out of them.

There are a number of bespoke assessments for you to complete, so you can get a very accurate measure of where you currently are - in relation to thriving - and clearly see how much you’re improving as you progress through the course. For most people, our main limitations don’t come from anything outside of us but from our own mind. The mind is a very powerful tool, if we don’t understand it and fail to use it to maximum capacity, our lives will suffer as a result.

Our beliefs and thoughts are our limitations. Our beliefs and thoughts are created in our own mind.
