The most important message in this for me is: I am not stuck with the consequences of an imperfect choice I might have made but can act accordingly in the present. It is for me about trusting my ability to re-act.
“The task we must set for ourselves is not to feel secure, but to be able to tolerate insecurity.” — Erich Fromm
This is a foundational existential reality. Most of life requires us to make choices and move on without all the information you might optimally want, and frequently with an array of imperfect choices.
This quote also helps clarify the inevitability of existential anxiety when we have to make meaning with uncertain consequences.

As a practitioner and individual I appreciate the Gestalt principle of starting to work from WHERE YOU ARE IN YOUR LIFE rather than
WHERE YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE.
