The Nepal Technology Innovation Center has initiated steps to expand its collaborative footprint in the emerging field of planetary health through a strategic engagement with Yonsei University.

A recent discussion was held between NTIC and a team from the Institute of Planetary Health, Gangwon-do, South Korea. The delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Yongseung Cho, Director of the Center for Planetary Health Art at Yonsei University. The meeting focused on sharing ongoing initiatives, institutional priorities, and areas of mutual interest in research and innovation related to planetary health.

During the interaction, both parties explored opportunities for academic collaboration, joint research, and knowledge exchange. The discussions concluded with a mutual understanding to formalize the partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aiming to foster long-term cooperation in advancing planetary health initiatives.

This collaboration is expected to strengthen NTIC’s role as a regional innovation hub while contributing to global efforts in addressing interconnected environmental and human health challenges.

A brainstorming session on Moringa Innovation was successfully conducted bringing together stakeholders from academia and industry.

The session featured the “Green Miracle” concept, focusing on value-added moringa products for nutrition, livelihoods, and climate resilience. Participants shared insights on product development, market opportunities, and collaboration.

The event concluded with a shared commitment to advancing moringa-based innovation in Nepal.

MSU PhD Student Partners with Nepal, Thailand on Wastewater Monitoring Project | Water Alliance During a recent trip to Nepal, Emilia Emerson, a PhD student in MSU’s Department of Biosystems & Agricultural Engineering, came down with a gastrointestinal illness. Ironically, she was hospitalized in the same facility where she had previously collected wastewater samples for her research.
