The Gurungs, also known as Tamu, are an indigenous ethnic group of Nepal primarily residing in the central regions of the country, particularly in the districts of Kaski, Lamjung, and Gorkha.

The traditional attire for Gurung women consists of the Phariya (skirt) and Chaubandi Cholo ( blouse ), which are both functional and elegant.
