In such cases, hand sanitizers is the only solution. As indicated by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the CDC, hand sanitizer is perhaps the next best option.

Hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol is recommended. The US Food and Drug Administration also urges everyone to avoid using hand sanitizers with methanol due to the high risk of toxicity and dangerous side effects, such as nausea, headaches, blurred vision, blindness and other serious, potentially life-threatening conditions.

-What is the most effective way to use hand sanitizers?

The following approach needs to be taken for effective use of hand sanitizers:

1.Right Quantity: It must be applied in a way that it coats every part of the hands including the nails and back part of the hands.
2. Right way: Sanitizers needs to be rubbed so that no residue is left and the solution is completely evaporated.
3. Right Time: Sanitizers are intended to kill microbes, don’t use it when your hands are covered in dirt, dust, grease etc. for cases as such, it is advised to clean your hands with soap.
