PID today organized a tree plantation program at Nepal Army Office, Barudhkhana. Colonel Dipesh Khanal inaugurated the program by planting a tree sapling in the premises of Nepal Army Office, Barudhkhana. During the program, Chandra Bhakta Bista, Team Leader of CASSC-03, Bidhya Bhandari and Pramila Adhikari, sociologists from Safeguard Unit, Puspha Koirala, Environment Expert from DSC-07, Anil Belbase, Community Mobilization Expert, Kokila Khadka KC, Communication Expert, Salina Joshi, Environment Officer from CASSC-03, contractor’s representatives and army officers were present. Earlier, PID had cut down six trees at Barudhkhana for the construction of Pump House. As part of environment safeguard compliance, PID today planted 80 tree saplings in Barudhkhana to compensate the loss of trees.
