Crossover is a three-part series we’ve initiated to encourage the idea of collaborations between musicians. For this project we have 6 wicked producers to create a collaborative track with other artists. This project will be divided into three episodes, with two producers in each episode.
|
•• Episode ii••
For this episode, we have YNZN.P, Phatcowlee, Huyana and Yuhina. This time we wanted to work on collaborations between producers and singers. Though everyone comes from a different musical background, we believe that cohesively their artistry will shatter barriers. Over a period of time the two artists will exchange ideas and share the creative process in all its entirety.

For our first episode of Crossover, we will be working with Maister and Abin Shakya. We asked our two producers to send in a sample each. The samples revolved around synth-based melodies and harmonies. We will send them each other’s samples tonight; which they will use to create a track of their own. Our Producers will have to send in the tracks by 6:00 P.M on the 24th of July, Friday.

Step Out is an effort we established to primarily build our community in Kathmandu for DJs/Producers. It is an initiative to eradicate the unnecessary form of competition that has always prevailed amongst artists here. Instead we want to start a culture where we get to contribute to one another's growth as independent artists.
Secondarily the focus is to have artists step out of their comfort zone. Being DJs, music is a massive part of our lives, and we all have our own selection of music that resonate with our individual tastes. The concept behind Step Out is to ask DJs to play music that they dont really get to play or havent played in public. We want people to see a side of the DJs that they havent seen before. Encouraging artists to explore Electronic Music and try out experimental sounds, we believe that collectively we can develope this side of the spectrum and bring in new music for everybody.

°Guest Mix by EZ Riser°
EZ Riser has been promoting global bass music in India for over a decade. He has been the main man for setting the foundation for the growth of bass music in India. Sohail's influence can be felt in the small but slowly growing bass community in Nepal too.
EZ Riser's short but super fun set is all about low frequencies and a good dose of some 160 BPM magic. To keep our spirits high, EZ has selected a collection of fresh tracks from around the globe for a super refreshing mix. Some genres that Sohail has included in this mix include some footwork, bass and percussions, drum and bass and jungle. This set was made to keep our spirits alive to have us overcome these unsual times.

•Artwork by Shaireen•
Shaireen decided to focus on portraits for this weeks showcase. For this mix, Shaireen decided to do a simple cover art. She made a portrait of EZ Riser holding a record with his name on it. During these unusual times, Shaireen brlieves that everyone is closer to oneself than we have been in a while. So, on this notion, she felt the best way to express this set was by giving focus to EZ Riser's individual self.
