This place has started to become a popular travel destination for the youths within the valley as a perfect getaway from all the rush within the valley.
The famous Pilot Baba Ashram lies six kilometers south of Bhaktapur Durbar. With perfectly maintained roads, it is only about 25 minutes’ drive away from Araniko Highway. Or if one chooses, they can also hike through the easy trails of the gorgeous Suryabinayak jungle. Once you get to the top, you will feel that the journey has been worthwhile with all the mesmerizing views of Kathmandu , Bhaktapur, and the mountains surrounding them. As the name gives it away, the main attraction of this place is the ashram, where the so called Pilot Baba resided. If you wish, you can pay a minimal amount of 50 rupees to enter the ashram. But getting to the ashram is still not the end of the journey, if you wish you can further go to Ghyampe Dada or walk about 5 minutes to get to Suryabinayak temple. Another point of attraction is the structure of a crashed plane on the foot of the hill and can be reached by taking a right from Suryabinayak temple
So why not on a fine Saturday afternoon, with the wind blowing behind and your friends beside you, take a bike ride and go to Pilot Baba Ashram or better yet take a healthy hike to Pilot Baba Ashram through the trails of the Suryabinayak jungle. 🙏🇳🇵
