A training on 'Wildlife Crime Investigation to Prosecution' was successfully completed. The training was held from 09 to 14 December 2024 at Sauraha, Chitwan, Nepal. It was organized by SAWEN - South Asia Wildlife Enforcement Network in cooperation with the Government of Nepal and in collaboration with the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) Nepal and Himalayan Nature, with financial support from the Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT) Challenge Fund. A total of 25 officials representing Protected Areas and Division Forest Offices of Nepal attended the training.

In the presence of the respected Secretary Mr. Karma Tshering and the Director of DoFPS, Mr. Lobzang Dorji, the Honourable Gen Tshering, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Royal Government of Bhutan, received a visit from SAWEN Secretary General Dr. KP Acharya at his office in Thimphu, Bhutan.
During the visit, SAWEN Focal person of Bhutan, Ms. Kinley Dem, Secondary SAWEN Focal person Mr. Kinga Norbu, and Senior Environment Officer Mr. Pradeep Bhattarai were also present.
The Secretariat team sincerely extended their acknowledgements for the support received from the Royal Government of Bhutan for SAWEN. They shared information about SAWEN and its activities, along with reflections on SAWEN’s launch in 2011 in Paro, Bhutan. The meeting also discussed about the continuation of collaboration between the Royal Government of Bhutan, SAWEN member countries, and SAWEN, including the endorsement of the SAWEN Statute.
