In Nepal and around the world, governments scapegoat the vulnerable, they silence protest with violence and label the most at risk as "threats".
We won’t let this continue. Together, we can ensure humanity is protected -- not punished.
Losing a home is not just about losing a building structure: it is about losing one’s rights, dignity, and security.
Yet, forced evictions are still surrounded by harmful myths and misinformation.
In this video, we break down common misconceptions and uncover the truth: environment conservation, urban development, and human rights must go hand in hand — not at the cost of people’s homes.
The right to adequate housing is a fundamental human right, protected under Nepal’s Constitution and recognised in international human rights standards, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
Let’s challenge misinformation and stand for justice. ✊

At the 18th Youth Mela, Amnesty Nepal youth members stood in solidarity to demand peace and the protection of civilians in every conflict—from Gaza to Iran, Sudan, and beyond.
They raised a unified call for what can never be compromised: the protection of civilian lives, accountability for all human rights violations, and the defence of fundamental freedoms everywhere.
No conflict justifies the loss of innocent lives. Even in war, human rights must stand. ✊
