On the 8th of April, 2024, the Koshi Province Assembly Hall in Biratnagar hosted a significant dialogue program, presided over by the Honorable Deputy Speaker, Srijana Danuwar, and graced by the esteemed presence of Lord Stewart Wood of Anfield from the United Kingdom. This gathering, attended by a diverse array of stakeholders including Country Represetative Jay Shankar Lal and various representatives, centered on the issue and challenges of gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response within the realm of Officer Rajkumari Rai, representing the Social Development Department, Ministry of Social development of Koshi province provided a comprehensive presentation on governmental efforts in this domain. The program saw participation from members of the Koshi Province Assembly, CoCoN Representatives, VSO Representatives, President of the NGO Federation of morang committee, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and journalists, collectively highlighting the widespread concern and engagement with the issue. Notably, The team leader of VSO, Ms. Rachana Shrestha delineated the commendable progress of the GBV Prevention and Response Project II, implementating by VSO partnership with CoCoN across Morang, Udayapur, and Okhaldhunga districts, encompassing nine municipalities. The project's multii approaches, inclusive of various community engagement initiatives, yielded significant results, marking a testament to collaborative endeavors in combating GBV.
