Unbundling NEA: A Structural Fix for Transmission Bottlenecks
Nepal’s transmission bottlenecks reflect deeper structural inefficiencies in the power sector. Unbundling the Nepal Electricity Authority into separate generation, transmission, and distribution entities can address these challenges by creating a neutral grid, improving efficiency, and enabling open access. This restructuring also helps attract private investment and strengthens overall system reliability.
