Originating with intricate gold designs for pharaohs, these methods traveled through cultures, reaching Nepal during the Licchavi period (4th to 9th centuries CE) and were perfected by Newar artisans in the Kathmandu Valley. Our Shakyamuni Buddha statue is a testament to this ancient craft. Using repoussé to hammer metal from the reverse side and chasing to add front details, we create a beautifully crafted piece.
