What if you're a startup and want to list on a stock market on day one? Thailand wants to make that possible. The Stock Exchange of Thailand plans to set up a market to trade stocks from startups and small companies by third quarter of 2017.

They don't need any revenue to list. However, only accredited investors may back these companies. The risk of investing in such firms are undeniably high.

The new exchange could make Thailand a more friendly place for startups looking to raise cash. There are major caveats though.

Australia's ASX has been a favorite for startups due to investors who are receptive to backing tech companies. However, it's planning to stop startups from listing too early.

Singapore's SGX, meanwhile, is looking to make its Catalist board easier for small firms to list in.
