From Mahendranagar to Birendranagar!
An inspiring moment at American Corner Surkhet!

Prayanshu Khadayat, an 11-year-old , 5th Grade student from Little Buddha Academy, Mahendranagar (Kanchanpur), recently visited Birendranagar with his maternal grandmother. A passionate young reader, he was in search of a peaceful reading space—and he found just that at American Corner Surkhet.

Prayanshu loves exploring different stories and books, and also enjoys playing cricket, chess, and football. During his visit, he was especially excited to discover some amazing books, including the famous Harry Potter series. His joy and curiosity reminded us how powerful reading can be at any age.

Before leaving, Prayanshu promised that he would return to read more whenever he is in Birendranagar. His journey is a beautiful reminder that even from far distances, young minds seek knowledge and spaces that nurture their love for reading.

American Corner Surkhet is delighted to welcome readers like Prayanshu and remains committed to providing learning opportunities beyond boundaries

VOLUNTEER VOICES: Meet Aavash Subedi!
We’re thrilled to spotlight one of our brightest stars at American Corner Surkhet — Aavash Subedi.
A dynamic young activist and research scholar, and a passionate volunteer at American Corner Surkhet. Aavash has been an integral part of our family for the last four years. Currently pursuing his Bachelor’s in Mass Communication, English, and Journalism at St. Xavier’s College, Aavash is a true testament to how passion and the right environment can spark incredible transformation.
Aavash describes the Corner as his "second home." He first walked through our doors as a self-described "introvert kid" with a small circle of friends. Over the years, he build the confidence to master public speaking, communication, and professional report writing.

"Corner is a privilege... I haven't seen a place like it in Surkhet."

We are so proud of the leader Aavash has become and can’t wait to see the impact he continues to make in the world of journalism and activism!
