Great piece from earlier last year by Te Aka Tauira featuring our co-founder Owyn Aitken and Remojo Tech’s involvement in Recycle A Device.

The article covers some of Remojo Tech and RADs work with Greg Scrivin from Te Wharekura o Mauao. Owyn highlighted some of the struggles and stigma associated with digital equity in Māori and Pacifica communities and how supporting initiatives like RAD can help get devices and tech skills in the hands of tauira.

Student addressing the digital divide Second year Bachelor of Applied Science student Owyn Aitken (Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, Tainui, Ngāti Māhanga) is perhaps one of Otago's most involved contributors within the technology space right now.

One of our founders, Owyn Aitken recently had the chance to share some of our kaupapa at Whāriki s “Talking Tech, Digital & Pakihi Māori” event alongside Bronwyn Scott in Ōtautahi Christchurch.

Whāriki is a truly incredible network that celebrates and supports the success of Māori businesses and professionals. We’re immensely proud to give our kōrero on building capability through tech at this event.
