Theft and Burglary is up 46% compared with Nov 2020; what do you think is driving this?

**Tinwald residents please be aware, your area is showing the highest rate of property crime in Ashburton.

Tips to reduce property loss:
- Keep keys inside, lock vehicles and doors.
- Put away valuables and new Christmas toys etc at night, inside or in your garage.
- Close gates.
- Park off street where possible.
- If you have an alarm use this, and ensure it is monitored to communicate with you when you are not home.
- Consider installing an alarm / servicing your alarm.
- Consider adding driveway beams, these can wake you if someone enters your property and notify you of entry when you are away.
