Holiday Snaps 📸 🤳 😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
Despite the terrible weather which seems to have defined this summer we have had some beautiful days and exciting times full of variety and surprises
From feral Kittens to sweet Misty who arrived on an airplane much to her surprise and joined our very first guests in the new cottage units, to Jimmy who wouldn’t eat and had to be despatched to the bedroom where he took up residence on top of the wardrobe requiring hand feeding while being sung “If you’re happy and you know it say meow” ( Thank you soo much to Jimmy’s owner for the tip 💕) It worked !!!!

Something exciting has been happening over the last few months at Homestead and we are delighted to share it with you . . . Follow me 🐾🐾🐾
I’ve included an out-take at the end to acknowledge the challenges “videotographer” Laurel has, working with the older presenter who at times doesn’t appear to know where she is 😳

Loss can be paralysing … but sometimes there’s an unexpected happy ending.
We won’t sugar coat it. After our long time stay ‘Snowy’ left, Mississippi (our other long stay cat) who was deeply bonded to him, feel into a deep state of grief.
It was heartbreaking, she spent all day and night up high on a perch where she use to watch him take his walks. Waiting and waiting for him to come back. When she did come inside she abandoned all their favourite sitting places, began hiding in unusual spots and reverted to type (a very nervous timid cat) we were close to seeking medical intervention.
Enter stage left … “one of you” (two actually) A couple whose cat had been boarding with us noticed Mississippis decline and began spending time with her. After their cat left they continued to visit her and made the decision to make her a project 💖
Starting with gifting Zippy her very own “Snowy” Bear 🐻❄️ 🥹 a regime of “love bombing” began. Lavished with sumptuous treats, massages, grooming and play, like a princess.
I hope you enjoy this photographic dairy of Zippys healing.
Mississippi adores ! her special visits and looks out for them. The transformation is astonishing.
The way she has bonded to her snowy bear may bring a tear to your eye.
But Wait There’s More:
Due to the success of Zippys rehabilitation, Our fabulous pussycat paramedics now volunteer at Homestead. They spend individual time with our longer stays “The Girls” (Zippy and Jasmine) and any cats who are needing that extra special attention. Your cat/s may well have received their care. ❤️🩹💖
The new toys are going down well 😜…Infact one can barely walk through the Cattery without becoming lassoed or taken down by a robotic rug rat 😳😆
