Last week we were fortunate to host ๐๐š๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐ข๐จ ๐‚๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐จ from ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ๐ฆ๐ฌ๐š ๐’๐ฉ๐š๐ข๐ง, suppliers of Syncronยฎ and Naturamin WSPยฎ, during his visit to New Zealand.

Donna Daken (Lower North Island, Key Account Manager & Technical Representative ) and I travelled the North Island with Patricio, beginning in the ๐…๐š๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ก with a grower meeting at ๐€๐ฅ๐š๐ง ๐ƒ๐จ๐›๐›๐ข๐žโ€™๐ฌ (๐‚๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐ž ๐Ž๐ซ๐œ๐ก๐š๐ซ๐ ๐ˆ๐ง๐ฏ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ).

Alan is running comparative trials using ๐’๐ฒ๐ง๐œ๐ซ๐จ๐งยฎ ๐ฏ๐ฌ ๐‡๐ฒ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ž๐ง ๐‚๐ฒ๐š๐ง๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐๐ž for enhanced budbreak and synchronisation. As expected at this stage, Syncronยฎ treatments appear slightly behind Hi-C due to their different mode of action, but based on previous seasons, we know they catch up well over time.

We also visited other kiwifruit orchards using Syncronยฎ, giving Patricio first-hand insight into the challenges of low winter chill in the Far North and the resulting variability in budbreak after this seasonโ€™s cold snap.
