2023 is going to be rough. Economically, politically and socially; especially in New Zealand. Like our Australian cousins we have been very sheltered for a very long time but key indicators we are in for a rough landing. Inflation, poverty and inequality are set to abound.

Well what does that have to do with business leaders such as yourselves? For one, some of the businesses you work for, sell to or buy from are going to close down. This isn’t going to be the likes of the 2020 or 2008-09 recessions. There won’t be Big Daddy Government’s bottomless money pit on the horizon to save us all. We are talking about a 70s style recession where whole industries go under, never to emerge again. Still there will be winners, survivors and consolidators. So take heart.
