We are currently looking for volunteers to join our Engagement Hour programme for elderly patients at the hospital where I work in Milford, Northshore.

This may be particularly suitable for healthcare professionals, students, internationally qualified nurses awaiting registration or placement, or anyone who has some spare time and would like to contribute to their community.

During Engagement Hour, volunteers help create meaningful moments for patients through diversional activities such as:
🎵 Singing and music
🏃 Gentle exercises and movement activities
🎨 Arts and crafts
🎲 Games and group activities
💬 Conversation and companionship

As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to become familiar with a New Zealand healthcare setting, build confidence, meet new people, and most importantly, make a positive difference in someone's day.
