7 years volunteering to coach these phenomenal players.
If anything, they have showed me how to be patient, respectful of how each one of them learns, not all of them are playing to win, for some sports is an outlet and others just want to play with their friends.
Each year, there is a new player who has never played, some have played a little and others hav been playing for a while.
They all have contributed to teamwork, challenged their comfort zone, learnt that team sport is all about supporting your team mates and uplifting them.
Back for another year of grass roots hockey.

After managing and nursing multiple injuries for the past 3 years, here are my discoveries:
Overrated:

motivation over adaptability

Training completely pain free over understanding pain & building capacity

There are days when all the progress made over the years of training, hits pause! A prolonged pause, not weeks or months but years to ups and downs.

The road to adapting mindset for an active person is frustrating to say the least.

But one thing I have learnt through all of these experiences is to keep moving and keep movement in my days.
