It was an honour to host international designer Keiji Takeuchi this morning to discuss his collaboration with Karimoku on the 'Cantinetta' collection and his upcoming exhibition 'Walking Sticks and Canes' which opens tomorrow at Objectspace. Saito Wood is a family owned company with a proud history that dates back to 1948. The company has humble beginnings, starting when founder Isamu Saito used the plywood moulding techniques he learned in the army to make small canisters.

The A-B01 Bench by Keiji Ashizawa for Karimoku Case, was designed to accommodate the need of a multi-purpose piece, both comfortable used for seating but with aesthetic capabilities befitting a display stand. The thin edges of the seat and legs gives the piece a light and exclusive appearance while the transverse strut connected to the seat with a delicate steel rod, ties the construction together visually and functionally, creating a sense of overall harmony. A dedicated cushion is also available separately. Karimoku Case is available exclusively from Good Form.
