It has been a while since I last posted a rod build. This is a stunning Quartz glass 8ft 5wt in the honey colour paired with a piece of dyed and stabilised black heart sasafras for the reel seat and a perfect agate stripping guide. The owner was worried that the blank was too bright so I toned down the guide wraps and went clear silk. I don't mind a bit of colour in my fly rods! And the trout don't seem to mind 🙂

The satisfaction of assembling components that look absolutely 💯 together.
