If you’re waiting until you feel ready to start exercising again, this is your reminder that most people never feel completely ready.
Not after having a baby.
Not after time away from training.
Not when life is busy.
The first session is always the hardest.
The overthinking.
The nerves.
The feeling that everyone else already knows what they’re doing.
The truth?
Most people felt exactly the same way when they started.
You don’t need to be fit.
You don’t need to know what you’re doing.
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need to take the first step.
As Cat said, once you do, you’ll find people are far more welcoming and supportive than you expected
“Just listen to your body.”
It’s probably the most common piece of advice women hear after having a baby…
But what does it actually mean? 🤔
For many women, “listening to your body” can feel confusing.
In this video, Rebecca from The Pelvic Institute explains what it can actually look like.
It’s about understanding things like:
• Pelvic heaviness or pressure
• Leaking during or after exercise
• Pain that worsens during or after movement
• How your body feels later that day or the next morning
• Whether you’re mentally ready, or feeling pressure to “bounce back”
One of the biggest things we’ve learnt is that postpartum recovery isn’t just physical. It’s emotional, mental and practical too.
At AXO, our goal isn’t to tell women when they should return to exercise. It’s to help them understand how to safely progress when the time is right for them.
Our full conversation with Rebecca drops soon. Comment “POSTPARTUM” below and we’ll send you the link early. 💜
