Interesting to compare what we were using technology wise a couple of decades ago... Today a customer brought in a Toshiba 310CDT laptop from 1998. This beast would have been a very nice model back in the day. It features a Pentium 200MMX processor, 32MB of RAM, 2GB of hard disk space, CDROM drive, 1.44Mb floppy drive, 12.1" screen running at 800x600 resolution and Windows 95.

In these pictures you can see it side by side with a brand new HP Spectre Pro X360 G2 which features an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM (256 times as much as the 18 year old Toshiba), a lightning quick 256GB solid state hard disk (128 times as much as the Toshiba), a high resolution 1920x1080 touchscreen and Windows 10 Professional.

You'll be pleased to know we managed to extract the customer's files from the Toshiba and reunite them with some old memories.

Vivid Computers is pleased to be able to assist Citizens Advice Bureaus in West Auckland, Auckland City and East Auckland with their IT requirements. Last week we kitted out the new Botany branch with new computers ready for their grand opening on Friday 12 February. Congratulations to the team there!

We celebrated the Re-Opening of the Botany Citizens Advice Bureau on Friday the 12th of February. It was a wonderful long awaited occasion, with a great turn out of supporters.
