Anthony during setup yesterday . As you can see, the urn we created here at PB for the event was quite tall. Measuring 1.2 metres in height, including its base, it had to be an impressive statement of excess. The bowl of the urn needed to be structural but translucent to hold the weight of our ‘croquembouche’ and allow for illumination from inside. The most appropriate material for this application was bone China, offering strength as well as a stunning degree of translucency. This bowl is actually 7mm thick which, when you consider the amount of light passing through it, highlights just how superb this material is as a medium for lighting.
