I had the privilege of collaborating with the uber talented to create a work for this important art fundraiser.

We’ve titled our piece ‘Remembering Paradise’ the work comprises of a hand carved Hikule’o figure and an original poem in response to Hikule’o.

Featured artists above are myself and .steel

PEAU KULA or ‘Red Wave’ is the ancient Tongan name for Taunami, it references the power and ferocity of a tsunami wave through the colour red.

January 15th 2022 saw a catastrophic eruption from the volcanic island of Hunga Ha’apai - Hunga Tonga within the Kingdom of Tonga. This eruption could be heard in Alaska and New Zealand, causing a peau kula to crash into Tongan coastal areas tragically taking 3 lives and devastating homes and businesses.

With the help of & we reached out to a few of our creative friends and since then have been inundated with incredible art which we will have available for sale online from 9am Thursday February 10 NZST.

All proceeds will be donated to relief efforts on the ground.
