Muriwai — what a tragedy out there to say the least! RCK Traffic Division has been supporting the Muriwai Community with Traffic Control 24/7 since cyclone Gabriel and today we can say things have moved to a positive phase with our Projects division setting up to start clearing the roading through Domain Cresent which will allow access for the people to start getting into there homes and asses the damage.

It’s hard to put into words the gravity of the destruction and the devastation this community is facing and yet the people are all so positive and resilient.
It is going to be very long road to recovery for the town of Muriwai and it’s people, so many homes destroyed and nothing short of a miracle that no residents where perished in there homes.
RCK is here for the long haul to do the best we can

Team Rck out Helping our wider west Auckland community today to start the clean up of parts of the aftermath after last nights storm which hit the west pritty hard.
There is no better way to do it under covid-19 level 4 restrictions than in the bubble of a bobcat or 4!!
It’s also Very humbling to see the positive attitude of the people directly effected in the community despite what has been going on in everyone’s lives over the last few weeks!!

There’s a Big job ahead for the coming days as you will see by our pics to make some of these roads passable again. We will continue to support our community and help as efficiently and safely as we can until our job is done.
