🏆 Last Night's Winners Circle 🏆
Congratulations to both Louie and Rhys for their wins last night.
Louie won the award for Meeting Excellence with another outstanding performance in the Grammarian role. A keen eye for unusual and exciting language. One of our newer members, we are looking forward to hearing his icebreaker next meeting 🥳
Rhys gave a tantalising tale of his clipboard in our table topics session. The historical significance, emotional weight and sentimentality was shared in his 2 minute impromptu speech. Showing us the importance of storytelling and, well, lying confidently! An easy candidate for Best Speech 💬
Our next meeting is on the 5th of November at the Onehunga Community House. Guests welcome. Become a more comfortable, more coherent and more entertaining speaker.
Let us know and we can pull up a chair for you 😊

Now entering our winners circle 🏆
Our newbies at Onehunga Toastmasters were set to impress last night. A meeting chaired by our lovely Lucretia, we were set for a great evening of inspiration under the theme "Unlocking Potential".
🏆 Congratulations to Louie who won the award of meeting excellence for his role as Grammarian 🏆
Louie chose the word "Strive" for us to use throughout the night. A great challenge for members to use during their speaking and we had fantastic ex*****on. He also gave an excellent report at the end of the evening placing special attention on unique language.
Toastmasters is not just about talking, but also about listening. The Grammarian role is one of the ways we can practice and learn.
🏆 I would also love to congratulate Maneet who won best speech for the evening 🏆
This was Maneets second meeting he has attended and we can already see excellent progress. When asked in our table topics section "What would you be doing as a career if you could get paid to do it?" Maneet gave an excellent speech about how he would get paid to "overthink". A clever, relevant and engaging answer. Looking forward to seeing more from Maneet.
Table topics is a great way to learn to think and speak on the fly. It isn't easy, but definitely a skill worth practicing.
🥳 A special thanks to everyone who attended last night and made the night a fun one! 🥳
Our next meeting is on the 13th of August 2025. Pencil it in your diaries! Looking forward to seeing everyone 😊
