So Wordcore Wafinders are doing another cool workshop of Modular Poetry for poets & people of all ages this weekend. I had a chat to Navagator Christian Jensen & asked him the curly question of how MP was different to standup.
Christian replied 'Stand-up poetry lives in a moment. It depends on voice, confidence, timing. It’s linear & transient.
Modular Poetry slows the pulse. It becomes physical. You can hold it, rearrange it, build with it, walk around it. It doesn’t privilege the loudest person in the room. It lets shy people make something bold without having to perform it.
The poem becomes spatial, collaborative, and durable. '
Do the poet in you a favour & come along for FREE to The New Lynn Community Centre This Sat at 3pm...
Bring: Curiosity.
Your own writing or found text (we will provide books, magazines, scraps — things we are happy to cut up).'
We are excited beyond words to host some workshops in the Whau!
Come along Saturday 3 pm
