Resisting brain rot, doomscrolling mental fog, and general dread at this stage of late capitalism by going to practice and movies at

What a treat to watch stories new and old and to think about how we share and shape them and are in turn shaped by them. Also, to have seen two new, very different romanian films and think about 'back home' and how that idea, like the place itself, is ever changing.

Now, to let some of these ideas take root in the dark, in their own time.

We weren't sure we were going to have these in time, but we're so happy to announce the release of our new record 'Apertures' in conjunction with the exhibition 'Shifting Morphologies' at .foundation tonight.

Comprised of 2 new tracks, the record is an addendum to our installation, which we'll be celebrating this evening at the gallery alongside Tony Nyberg's images from Tairāwhiti. We hope to see some of you there.

Apertures is a double-sided 10" lathe cut in glorious mono at 45 rpm by Johnny Electric in Ōtautahi, Aotearoa, mastered by our dear friend and comrade , with cover art and design by Tony Nyberg and Fiona Lascelles.

We're playing the mighty Audio Foundation this Friday 4th of July, details below:

EAMON SPROD:
Working with sound borrowed from urban spaces Australian sound artist eamon sprod/TARAB pursues what might be called an anti-naturalist field recording practice. Fragmenting and re-contextualising the audio material he forages and collects to shape oblique narratives, false leads and listening spaces from within the everyday. Purposefully working with the sonic material he finds at hand to hear and see what might happen when things are drawn together and pulled apart. Sound is often introduced to space through the use of simple means. Discarded household items or physical elements of rooms are transformed into unique speakers or percussive sound generators. In turn, speakers are encouraged to move beyond their role as replicators of pre-existing sounds, instead to act as sounding things in themselves.

Working previously as TARAB, Eamon Sprod has presented performances and installations within Australia, Europe, Japan, Korea, North and South America; participating in festivals including Liquid Architecture (AU); Activating The Medium (US); Observatorie (ES); Bogong: Electric (AU); Tsonami Festival de Arte Sonore (CL); Amplify 2020: Quarantine (US/Online); and the Lausanne Underground Film Festival (CH).
