As the Pōhutukawa Coast grows we want to continue supporting a connected, inclusive and resilient community. A fabulous new workshop to be held at the Log Cabin by Anna Tang - These workshops are designed to give people an introduction to paint carving and try something creative and different, regardless of artistic ability.

AT: LOG CABIN, BEACHLANDS
TIME: 15 NOVEMBER 1PM - 4 PM

WHAT TO EXPECT:

First, you’ll do some carving practice, using lines and curvy shapes on soft cutting mats to get you familiar with the cutting tool. Then you choose the design you’d like like to try and get started on your individual piece of art. Anna will have many different beginner and advanced paint carving designs to choose from, or you are welcome to bring your own.

You will then trace your design onto a pre-prepared art board (20cm round) and the carving begins. Anna will be carving alongside you all as well so you can see and enjoy the techniques she uses.

If you have carved materials before but are new to paint carving, then you can probably choose a more advanced design or bring your own ideas. Anna will be able to help you based on your ability.

So many of you use our lovely Log Cabin Puzzle Library.

It has been bought to our attention that some people think it is a swap library eg donate a puzzle and take a puzzle. Please note this is NOT the case.

It is like a book library where you borrow and return so we can continue to share the puzzle love with many. If you may have "swapped" a puzzle recently without realising the rules and knowing to sign them out we would appreciate their return with no judgement (but just delight at seeing some of our favourite puzzles back on the shelves.)

We absolutey welcome donations of complete and tidy puzzles but appreciate you arranging this with Adele who processes them and prepares them for library usage. We ask no donations of any sort are left at the log cabin without prior permission as some have been left on the doorstep and been damaged , or it interupt other groups and private users of the cabin.
