Last couple of weeks has been pretty busy, I thought winter would be a quiet time for me just going off past experience working in bike shops... this winter - that hasn't been the case, not that I'm complaining! Some work on an MT09, modified a set of ZX14 forks to take an ABS pickup to replace some rooted ones on a ZG1400, and a service on a RE Shotgun. That and the rest of the stuff I didn't stop to get my camera out for!

Honda with shifting issues - made up a "new" shaft out one I had in stock with a good mechanism and an XR200 spline. The CB500 spines seem to be really soft, I had about 3 shafts all with mushed splines. A bit of effort required to get it stuck together but well worth it, it shifts really well now!

Lots going on here the last couple of weeks! One of todays jobs was rebuilding this Honda crankshaft after one of the main bearings failed, the small end was pretty pooed so the conrod needed replacing. I've also been looking around for a new work truck and ended up going for a test drive in this little Daihatsu. It's a cool little thing, super economical 660cc efi with a surprising amount of bed space!

This week I've been making more valve guides from scratch. Not exactly cost effective but there's none available off the shelf in the size I need! Also had a re-bore to do on an old DT80 cylinder, alongside the day to day workshop jobs fixing motorcycles of course!

Hi to all our new followers, thanks for the support! 😁

British bike on the bench, a cool old thing and pretty tidy considering it's age. I had to repair some fuel leaks, an oil leak (outside of the usual British bike oil leaks), sort out some dodgy wiring and get it running properly so the owner can sell it. It was a bit of a pain to get it running initially so was nice to have the starter on the dyno to get it going and trouble-shoot. Now it goes pretty good and starts first kick!

This bike has been hanging around for a while now, I'm finally getting to the end on the list of things to do. Today it had the valve clearances checked and adjusted and some much needed carb work. It now runs great!

Went for a spin on the bucket this morning, got the dust off the tyres at least 😆

This bike is due a bit of love over the winter. I've got plans for another engine, more horsepower, a better ignition system, more weight saving, less green paint! 🤢

We're making slow but steady progress on our new (to us) Dynojet 250i. Should be ready for testing within the next month! Very exciting!
