RIP Denis 😕

It has been 50 years since Denis Irwin launched Matawhero Wines and while he no longer owns the label, he lives just up the way on Tiniroto Road. He’s at number 747, in fact, hence the name (747) on the label of his new wines. And 50 years be damned . . . tonight George caught up with Denis as he offered tastings at Liquorland. Also in the news, Hauora Tairawhiti says that while there are no new cases of Covid-19 in the region, the one person already diagnosed here was yesterday admitted to Gisborne Hospital, where he is in complete isolation and staff caring for him are wearing full Personal Protective Equipment. He is in a stable condition so here’s hoping for a happy(ish) outcome. 🤞
