On Friday we celebrated Pink Shirt Day!

Our tamariki had a wonderful day enjoying pink dress ups, pink play dough and art work, and making pink fairy bread for afternoon tea!

We celebrate Pink Shirt Day to help promote kindness, inclusion and respect, while standing together against bullying. It was lovely to see our tamariki embracing these important values through play, creativity and connection.

Our school holiday program is in full swing, take a look at some of the fun activities we have planned.

☘️ St Patricks day fun ☘️

Our preschool tamariki had a blast racing cars down the hill. This activity incorporated early science concepts like gravity, speed, and cause and effect while also developing problem solving skills as they tested different ideas. Tamariki were building social skills through turn taking and shared excitement, strengthening their language as they talked about what they noticed, and supporting their physical development as they moved up and down the hill.

Did you know that at Early Years Rotokauri we provide all meals? Our very talented centre cook prepares hot, nutritious food every day.

Our menu changes daily and includes a hot meal for lunch and fresh baking for afternoon tea. All meals include fresh fruit or vegetables, and for our babies we make homemade vegetable mash and fruit purée each week.

You can rest assured that while your tamariki are in our care, they are well fed, nurtured, and looked after

On Friday, our babies and toddlers were finally able to get outside and explore their new playground, and they were so excited!

While parts of the playground are still off limits as the grass continues to grow, the bike track was an absolute hit. We can’t wait to watch our tamariki learn, play, and grow in their beautiful new outdoor space.

This week our tamariki explored Valentine’s Day through art, sensory play and dress ups.

Celebrating cultural events helps children build understanding of the diverse traditions within our community, strengthening empathy, respect and a sense of belonging (Mana Whenua).

Through play-based learning, we nurture confident, creative and culturally aware learners while sharing plenty of joy and aroha.

Exciting things are happening in our babies playground. We can’t wait for it to be finished and to see our smallest tamariki playing in their new outdoor space.
